Brief History of the building
A very solid well made brick building built approximately around 1901 and as the towns first and only bank. Originally known as the McGill National Bank during the booming mining industry. In 1934 the bank merged with the Ely National Bank and became the McGill branch of the ENB. It continued as such until 1955 when it merged and became the Nevada Bank of Commerce. In 1957 the whole building received a fresh remodel. Bank of America was the last bank to occupy the space and they left the area in 2000. The interior has been preserved to maintain the same look and feel of the bank as it was when it was operational.
